Aerotronics' F-16 flight grip is
a dimensionally accurate metal investment
casting of the real grip. It is populated with high-grade
switches from the original equipment manufacturers,
Otto engineering, Mason, and high fidelity simulation
The F-16 flight grip needs to be incredibly durable because it is based upon a nearly inflexible force transducer. The grip itself only moves a few millimeters, but controls the aircraft via pressure sensitive electrical interfaces. Because of this configuration, the F-16 flight grip is subject to the highest torque pressures of any of the flight grips. As our flight grips are used in centrifuges capable of producing 10 G's, durability is always a priority.
We have developed a special line of strong, reinforced aluminum investment cast flight grips that have welded threaded tail grip adapters so that they cannot come apart in flight. In these tough environments, resin grips with bolted tail grip adapters simply cannot hold up.
